Firearm Inventory

Post Exchange in Youngsville, LA is Acadiana’s local source for firearm sales. We carry all manner of handgun, shotguns, and rifles. Our in-stock inventory consists of: Springfield Armory 1911’s & XD lines. Beretta 92’s & 96’s. The Ruger Blackhawk & Super Blackhawk lines. We carry all manner of sporting and hunting rifles AR-15’s, .308’s, .30-06’s and more.

We specialize in custom fitting the proper firearm to the shooter. Post Exchange customers get the benefit of our instructor’s in-depth knowledge about what type gun is best suited for a user. The amount of grip strength and physical exertion necessary to rack a gun slide can be too much for people suffering from arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, or other hand and wrist injuries. Women and men with slighter physiques and less overall strength often find it challenging to smoothly manipulate a gun slide. Some of the slides on newer guns are incredibly stiff and difficult to maneuver. The addition of oil from cleanings and sweaty palms from the anxiety of a stressful situation only make the pulling the slide more challenging. The more a person struggles with the slide, the more likely they are to pinch themselves in the slide or have a malfunction in loading.

REQUIREMENTS

When purchasing a firearm, a valid driver’s license and background check are required. The license is used to prove the buyer meets the federal age limits. 21 for handguns. 18 for shotguns or rifles. The background check ensures the buyer is qualified to purchase firearm. You will be required to fill out ATF Form 4473. A National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) background check can take less than a minute if there is nothing on your criminal record. There is no gun permit required to purchase a firearm in the state. A gun license is not mandatory to detail firearm ownership. Registration of long guns or handguns is not required in Louisiana.

Once you buy a gun, it is your responsibility to be an informed and safe gun owner. Post Exchange not only sells firearms, but have an NRA certified concealed carry classes and marksmanship training. It can take thousands of rounds to become proficient with a firearm. We have a 100 yard gun range. When you buy a gun from us you have the benefit of free training from our instructor when you shoot at the Post Exchange range.
